This blog is now sunset for personal reasons!
This blog (along with all my others) is soon to be sunset! My mental health has been in decline for a long time now, and I've decided that the combination of that and my newly-bullshit attention span is too much. So, from 1st Jan, 2026, I will be uninstalling all social media indefinitely! This means this blog will be inactive... possibly forever.
I've loved to see your reactions to my art over my time posting on this blog - all your opinions, likes and reblogs mean the world to me! But I think it's more important, now, that I prioritise myself and get back to experiencing Reality again (and start painting more). Thanks for everything, I love you all, and goodbye! :]
current project as of a couple of days ago :] not posting the whole thing because it:
a) isn't fully rendered / looks like shit right now and
b) my underpainting choices are questionable
the omencall, name taken from their tendency to stalk lifeforms near death, (last creature I posted) features a permanent red-tinted nictitating membrane to help diffuse harsh sunlight that reflects off of the snowy environment they live in. They also have large, thick eyelashes to protect against the frequent blizzards.
The left side shows the eye's true colour, and the right the colour shown under the red tint of the membrane.
and he's complete!

some more bust details
such whimsy :]
doing some watercolour style gouache underpainting for my worldbuilding project that I haven't revisited for like a year or so
