With the film TADC announcement from Glitch and some people bitching about it, I'm once again thinking about how harmful mixing of art and entertainment is nowadays.
Now, don’t get me wrong - art is fun both to create and observe, and animation in particular always has been intertwined with entertaiment. Yet I cannot shake the feeling that in modern day, when media reaches a certain level of popularity, people start treating it in a much more consumerist way. Ofc the “artist intent VS audience interpretation” always was a thing, but I don’t remember until recently for it to become this… repulsive? Like wdym it’s okay now to harass someone, let alone the creator of your fan media, for not entertaining your specific interpretation?
To add to that, in particular the Glitch case, it seems like some people not really getting that good working conditions require shit ton of resources. In other words,if an indie studio sets a 2 week gap in theater and movie releases, it’s not an evil corporate greed - it’s someone’s bigger salary that they clearly deserved for creating one of the most popular shows.
Idk, it’s kinda messy of the text post, but I just feel a need to talk it out. Just remember that behind your favorite things, esp indie, is work of real people. Respect that.

Being meticulous and short-tempered is the most funniest combination for fic writing.
I can ask my friend remind me to change date I got wrong in text or to double-check timeline, which was never clearly stated, but all of it just to say "fuck it" and put "canon diversion" tag.
