And I got the Mission 3 DMD S-rank too!!! I can't believe I forgot Nero could buster bosses when they're down. Once I remembered that, chunking her became way easier. Made for a cool ending too xD
Now on to Mission 8...

Now on to Mission 8...
Finally got the DMC5 DMD Mission 12 S rank!!! All it took was me streaming to some friends and complaining about/trying to explain the Mission and thr little tricks for me to apparently lock in enough to kill Urizen without a restart for the first time, securing the S-rank. What's hilarious is that when I killed him I immediately went "nooooo, it's on my worst run too, there's no way I'm going to S-rank this because I kept going on a bad run 😭" only to get flabbergasted by the giant S that appeared on the screen after all the cutscenes finished, because. Yeah. I got the S.
See normally I would try to make sure I went into the Urizen fight with a style ranking in the 5,000s, but on that one it was I think ~4,720 because I'd been talking during the last fight and had gotten hit a few times, lowering my ranking. I figured I'd probably finished the Urizen fight with 4800 base points, which was going to be shy of the 6k needed for S on DMD. But this game's final calculations are a mystery to me and somehow I came out of it with 6224 points with the 1.2x No Continue multiplier, which is ~5,187 base points so. Yeah. I was styling on Urizen apparently, lol.
Feels great to be free of the Mission 12 grind. Now to hop back into Mission 11 to see if I can get the S on that. It might be a good idea to go into Bloody Palace and fight Cavaliere Angelo there just to relearn its attack patterns, but I think I'll just start with Mission 11 and see how it feels.
Side note, after one of my Mission 12 attempts I decided to run it on Human mode because I wanted to show my friends Urizen in a hat, and I was 1) flabbergasted by how *easy* it was, even with me not knowing which enemies were going to show up bc it's different than DMD enemy lineup, and 2) absolutely blown away by the fact that I somehow managed to do it without getting hit. The entire time. I got the 1.2x AND the 2.0 multiplier. Mind blown. Felt like Rock Lee taking off the training weights tbh...
Okay if you've read this far thank you, I'm just soooo happy. I've been stuck on Mission 12 S-rank for months. I haven't been playing non-stop or anything, but it's been ages since I made any progress since I've been so on and off with it so I was stoked to finally get it down.
After this I think my plan is to S-rank Dante's other Missions (10 and 11, since I haven't done anything on DMD past 12) and then I'll progress the game again. We'll see whether I just try to beat it or whether I decide I really need those S-ranks before progressing again 😅
So to all of my DMC followers who read my fics, I am sorry for the long wait between chapters but I've been Actually Playing DMC and having a lot of fun so I haven't had as much time to Write About DMC.
(Also I've had pretty bad writer's block but yeah playing DMC has been time consuming (but fun!))
OH ONE LAST THING.
I still don't have Max DT. I'm missing I think 2 purple orb fragments.
Would getting all S-ranks be easier if I had a full DT bar and thus could accumulate more of it at once? Yes. Has that knowledge been enough to make me go back to Mission 16 where I think one of the missing orb fragments is, or Mission 15, where I hope the other one is because if not I have no idea where it is? Nahhhhh.
One day I'll get them. One day.
Second part of the Mission 12 skip (blood clot is further down the hall. You have to make sure to turn back around once you break it so you don't get caught in a fight).
First two parts of the Mission 12 skip.
Getting closer to being able to beat the Urizen fight without a revive in Mission 12...
I'm still not quite there because I tend to get caught in something dumb (like thinking I switched to Trickster when I didn't so I start doing a Swordmaster move instead of dashing) but I've gotten a lot better at dodging his attacks. There's still one tricky set (homing tentacles at the same time as the giant laser beam) but I think I've got the dodging for everything else figured out even if I make some little mistakes here and there. S rank on Mission 12, you will soon be mine!
Got to Floor 71 of Bloody Palace with Nero tonight. GodDAMN I hate the Fury fights. The triple Fury one is so stressful... I barely survived, but I did, so tomorrow I'll probably keep going to see how far I can get. (I suspended after beating floor 70, so this run's still going.)
Not sure if I'll be able to beat Malphas even if I make it to level 80 (I think she's the level 80 boss and Cerberus is 90?) But we'll see. I'm pretty sure I SDT cheese'd the Triple Fury fight when I did it with Dante, and used it to help avoid Malphas' Super Chicken Rampage too. Man I hate the Malphas' Super Chicken Rampage. I'm so bad at dodging out of it when playing as Nero in Mission 15 anyway. Fighting Cavaliere Angelo with Nero was a lot of fun though. Would do it again!
