Role Model~#GRLGBTPride Edition~ #PunkRockBarbie ERYN WOODS
A Role Model is a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people. Each month, we ask the Network Family to recommend role models and mentors. We profile each leader by asking them questions about their own inspirations, pivotal moments in their development of their identities, and advice for future leaders. If you have recommendations for a role model or mentor to profile, please send them to Larry DeShane.
COME SEE ERYN LIVE AT GREATER GRAND RAPIDS PRIDE 2015

What role model taught you that your own identity was unique or important? How did they teach you the value of your identity?
"When I started performing I wasn't as comfortable in my own skin but all the people I have met along the way are actually my role models. They made me feel special and they made me realize how unique I was. Now I am just able to returning all the good vibes I was given to all my fans and let everyone know that being different is an amazing thing! Love yourself and who gives a shit if you're POPULAR!!!"

Was there a defining moment or struggle in your life that really defined who you are (or want to be) today?
What would you say to an LGBTQ youth who is facing a real identity crisis? How would you convince them that the struggles they are facing today may ultimately define who they are and one day strengthen them?
"Everything you go through defines who you are no matter if it is good or bad! Take everything you have learned, or will learn, throughout your life and use it to become a better YOU!"
How has life gotten better since you came to true to yourself.
"Once I realized that LOVING YOURSELF was better than relying on someone else to love you FOR YOU life has been better than ever. I've been able to move further in my life and career!"
Do you have a personal motto?
