THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2026 in
VIENNA
2ND PLACE | ALEXANDRA CăPITăNESCU with CHOKE ME (the winner of hearts)
You know I didn’t realise Lesbian Symphonic Operatic Metal was missing from my life until literally right now
Bulgaria and Romania coming back after a break from Eurovision and one ends up 3rd place (almost runner-up) and the other freaking wins the contest for the first time.
Ngl, I never considered Bangaranga a winner song but I guess the live performance was impressive enough.
My thoughts on the ESC top 5:
5) Italy: The song was nice, and the singer seemed like a sweet Italian grandpa. Not a lot to say here.
4) Australia: I personally didn't vibe with the song, and I believe someone else could've deserved 4th place a lot more, but overall, it's quite OK that Australia is in the top 5.
3) Romania: my only thought right now: CHOKE ME, CHO-CHO-CHO-CHOKE ME!!! This was my favourite ESC2026 song and performance. I really like the song, and I love the concept!
2) Israel: Well, I knew they'd be up there, but they still don't deserve it. The song was nice, I'll admit that, but I do feel like EBU should kick Israel out of ESC, considering the bombing and the fact that 5 countries refused to participate, because of Israel being in the competition.
1) Bulgaria: BANGARANGA!! I liked the song; it's catchy. I didn't expect it to be in the top 3, let alone win, but I'm really happy it did, because if it hadn't won, Israel would've won, and we don't want that happening.
I do hope that more countries protest against Israel next year, and I'm also hoping the EBU removes Israel. Free Palestine!
