General Motors (GM) is recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles with the 6.2L V8 gas engine due to a potential engine failure issue. This recall includes 2021-2024 model year Cadillac Escalades, Cadillac Escalade ESVs, Chevrolet Silverado 1500s, Suburbans, and Tahoes, as well as GMC Sierra 1500s, Yukons, and Yukon XLs.

Why is the recall happening?
The recall is due to a potential issue with the 6.2L V8 gas engine, specifically, defects in the connecting rod and/or crankshaft components.
These defects could lead to engine damage and potential failure, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners will receive notification letters from GM.
Dealers will inspect the vehicles, and if necessary, will repair or replace the engine.
