Something interesting for the KRBAY/Mega Man crossover:
While he’s nowhere near Wily and Light’s level, Escargoon does know how to build primitive robots. Most prominent is Escar-droid, a robot double made to help him serve Dedede (In Right-Hand Robot/Takeoff! Escargon Robo).
He also grows attached to it and is heartbroken when it gets destroyed.
So yeah I love the idea of Escargoon building Adeleine (probably so Dedede can get free monsters with her art powers), only to start seeing her as a daughter.
Yeah that's what I figured too.
Honestly between him eventually getting good enough to make something as complex as a Robot Master (largely due to there being so many of them around for him to study and plenty of blueprints and schematics to sneak a peek at) and there being several people on-hand who'd be sympathetic to his plight, Escar-droid might even survive in this timeline. And will likely be at least a bit more advanced.
That said yeah he's definitely not as good as Light or Wily, or even Lalinde or Cossack. For example, where one of them probably would've been able to make Adeleine's abilities from scratch (or at least manage something close to it), Escargoon had to convert Paint Roller's bucket (which he finds and sneakily pockets after it goes boom) into a power source for her.
