How to Ride an Electric Skateboard?
On deck
・Place the skateboard horizontally in front of your body and ride up the steps.
・Put the skateboard vertically in front of the body and step on it with only the front foot
Notice that your weight is coming down directly from the knee of the leg you put first. This keeps the board stable without moving back and forth. Lift the other foot off the ground and place both feet on the board.
Acceleration
The knees of the front legs are slightly bent, and the center of gravity is placed vertically from the knees to the ground. At the same time, pay attention to "stepping inward with the knees of the hind legs".
Use the remote control to accelerate forward under the drive of the motor. Unlike normal skateboards, it accelerates all at once, so it's easy to lose your posture. Correct posture must be maintained to stabilize the balance of movement.
Slow Down
To slow down, keep your front leg straight and put your weight on your back leg. At the same time, it's easier to stop if you consciously "stretch your front leg." If the center of gravity is too forward, you may be thrown forward the moment you slow down, so be careful.
Be conscious when braking, and be sure to step on your front foot when slowing down and stopping.
How to Turn Correctly
In order to flex properly with a power skateboard, you have to put your weight on the "toe side" or "heel side" of your front foot. As for the direction of the turn, if the left foot is the front foot, it is a right turn if the weight is on the toe, and it is a left turn if the weight is on the heel. If the right foot is the front foot, the left and right are opposite, so be careful.
Relax Your Eyes
In skateboarding, when your eyes move, your posture changes and your muscle tension decreases. Keep your eyes firmly fixed while riding so you don't put unnecessary stress on your muscles and you ride smoothly. When using an electric skateboard, pay attention to the direction of travel, the direction to turn, the direction to travel, and try to look as far away as possible. Especially for those who can't turn well just by shifting their weight, just paying attention to your eyes can improve your posture, help you relax and glide smoothly.
Practice Upper Body Posture
Since you're using your lower body to operate your electric skateboard, you tend to focus on your feet, but it's also important to pay attention to your upper body posture. For example, if you push too hard on the board, your body bends and you lose your balance. So if you look straight ahead and as far as you can, with your upper body elevated, it will be easier to transfer the weight as you imagined. Also, having your arms outstretched to control your center of gravity will help you maintain better balance at the start. This is because the horizontal length makes it easier to stabilize the center of gravity.
