i think its funny that coronabeth and harrow have barely interacted. ianthe can judge coronabeth for judth deuteros but she still has to explain to corona that shes now down horrendous for the weird little ninth girl

harrow uses a default "she" when talking about cavaliers and swordswomen and i think we're meant to interpret that as like a societal difference but i think thats just harrow. men arent real to her

the one john gaius take i dislike more than any other is that hes supposed to be a cautionary tale and that anyone would do the same in his circumstance. wholeheartedly disagree. one of the strongest themes of the text is that a desire for power and control is not the same as inevitability. there is always a choice. almost every one of the original disciples chose to sacrifice their cavalier to achieve lyctorhood, but almost all the scions rejected or would have rejected it. its a choice.
