Flat White Table
I sip my matching drink, wishing for it to bring joyous inspiration into my head. As I sit and sip, what begins to draw my pen across this page is the smooth voice of the sweet mother reading to her family at the table next to me.
She speaks slowly, letting each carefully written word roll off of her tongue with love and emotion. She reads as though she is relaying the message of a beloved family member from afar; excited to tell her son of recent family adventures.
Good mama. Good wife.
She is at peace, and in control of her story and setting. This is a beautiful thing to see. Her son (~12) looks up to her with wide eyes, healthily soaking up the secret information being bestowed upon him.
Good boy. Good son.
The father remains still and stylish, soaking up the perfect sunshine that is his family, of which he seems so proud.
I vow to have a family like this one day. This has been a beautiful painting to experience. Seeing love and stability like this does not happen to me often anymore, due to my training regimen and activities. I am grateful for this opportunity. <3
168; Transpire (Espresso Profeta, Los Angeles)
I miss the endless day reveries, possibilities, thoughts, ideas and dreams that transpired to be when I was here; The hours spent, alone with my thoughts and the many conversations that come to pass, over coffee and comforting presences. If there was a place that hits closest to home the past four years, a familiarity that envelopes and attaches, it would be here.
