The jade guanyin scene where Ming Fan is harassing Binghe except Shen Yuan is there and she decks Ming Fan bc this isn’t the world she was first born in, not that she knows that. She’s had to claw and bite her way to where she is now, we’ve got Shen Jiu parallel up the wazoo
Shen Yuan who was an orphan and a slave, who did what she needed to do to survive and that reflects in how she fights. She can be elegant and refined, but more often than not she fights quick and dirty and Ming Fan doesn’t stand a chance. The person he’s going up against isn’t a sheltered nepo baby in this life.
Of course, after she beats him up and literally has to be pulled off of him, she finds that little pendant and gives it back to Binghe. Of course, Shen Qingqiu marches out there and drags this little brat off his peak but the damage is done, Binghe is even more enamored than before.
I also imagine that Shen Yuan’s hair is pretty short in the beginning of this Au because somehow while she’s on the run after escaping her hair gets forcibly cut. Maybe it was done before she ran away as like a humiliation and punishment type of thing and that was the straw that broke the camel’s back, idk. Just some thoughts. But I love the idea of Binghe liking her short hair too and he likes playing with it while it grows out and maybe he’s one of the first people that she lets touch her hair again. Idk man, I just really love hair care as an expression of love and care
