Character Ask Game question 4: If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I think a book about Young Xehanort would be AMAZING. Specifically a Dark Road novelization, maybe even stretching into the time before and after his mark of mastery exam? I think it'd really give his character a lot of space to breathe and grow, sort of untethered from the negative perception of him that comes with the games. It'd be a great way to get inside his head and really expand on his experiences, especially since Dark Road suffered so heavily from cuts. We know where he starts and how he ends up, and I'd love to dissect more thoroughly how he got from point A to point B!

For the "PD shapeshifting into Rose for that long is implausible" thing, keep in mind that, as far as I'm aware, there hasn't been a scenario yet where a gem's gotten tired from shapeshifting into something SMALLER than their default form. Rose has a way smaller mass than Pink after all (or maybe the mass is redistributed so it's an equal amount of physical matter either way? Either way, no additive physical strain). It could also explain why Rose could shapeshift a womb for so long

oh i hadnt considered that. i didnt really think that what she shapeshifted into would matter, i just figured that the physical act of DOING it wouldve worn her out

It's actually currently more a stream of consciousness outline than any writing and I'm pretty sure it originated in a discord dms ramble. the joys of Hyperfixating on one specific character <3

The most important part of it is like. the Lingering Will has a heart. this is something I've headcanoned for a long time, I've thought about making a presentation about it, i could ramble about it at length. The Lingering Will is a more distinct person to me than to most people. That's important context for this whole au, but I can go over all my thoughts there in a different post!

So LW has a heart, albeit a bit small and young, but plenty strong. Its dedication to Aqua and Ventus have given it powerful connections that sustain it, and when Namine popped in that little connection helped too! So when its body is destroyed, where does its heart go? the most obvious place- Terra's heart.

The gist of the story is Terra finding that out and having to really come to terms with the way he was split apart and the ramifications, as well as the experience of the Lingering Will figuring out personhood. I want to play with that relationship between Terra and something that was once part of him. How the LW differs from him and what they have in common. What does the LW want from personhood? What does identity mean to it?

It's kind of like a Sora and Roxas situation- two separate people existing at the same time, one of whom came from a part of the other. Only a little to the left, because LW isn't a nobody, but close enough. I actually want to have a scene where Terra and Roxas talk about Roxas' experience with coming from Sora and what it's been like to carve out his own identity separate from that.

I have another ask about this in my inbox so i think i'll cut this short here and go on a little more there :3 I'd love to actually start writing it sometime but i already have too many other projects at the moment.
