At the end of an interview with @kennyrampton and @loebdave including a preview of the #EssentiallyEllington high school jazz music festival at UNLV, I got to do a brief jam with Kenny and @jazzpianoplayer. You may or may not know that in addition to doing traffic and weather for @8newsnow, I'm also an amateur flute player. I can't believe I had this opportunity. Kenny went to Bonanza High School and UNLV before joining the @jazzdotorg Orchestra with @wyntonmarsalis. The local festival is January 18th and 19th at Ham Hall at UNLV with concerts both nights following daylong performances from area high school jazz bands. Props to @jazzoutreachinitiative where you can learn much more about the Festival.
