Question: How Much Does an Estate Plan Cost?
Answer: You owe you pay for, truly, you can go online, and you could do your own will, your own health care proxy, your own power of attorney, and those could even be free, but do you know what you're signing? Are they up to date? Have you signed them correctly? If any of those things go wrong, your family's gonna end up in court.
Most people don't know that the only other person on this planet who can speak on your behalf, it's not your spouse, it's not your kids; it's a judge. So if you execute documents or you go to a Wills only or document drafting attorney and never get those documents updated, more than likely, your family's gonna have to go through the court process. So sure you create an estate plan, and it's free. But really, how much was that worth to you? So that is a long-winded answer of how much an estate plan cost.
