This city really doesn't ever sleep. I can't tell if that's good or bad. Good I suppose, if you want to get a taxi rather late. But bad because..

Kidnappings were always so cut and dry when they were aired on the news. The person was either found, or they weren't. Not much of a follow up on the news caster's lines unless news was slow and a body was found somewhere. He didn't quite blame them, they usually ended up really bloody and depressing and he or one of his coworkers were always the first to respond to the aftermath.
It almost made him happy that he had escaped, almost. Or rather was left to be found really. It was rather surprising to some how meloncholy he was when he was deemed to be alright. Shouldn't he be happy that the news casters had taken such an interest and wished him the best? Shouldn't he be happy that he was ok'ed to leave the hospital after only having to stay for a few days? Shouldn't he be happy that he escaped with his life? It was very debatable, especially if he had any say in it. What went on was.. not too easy to cover up. But he had to stay positive, he had friends to come back to, people that loved him. He still had his job and wasn't deemed too crazy to have to be put on leave. He even got some stupid award though he didn't do a damn thing, recognition, congrats and promises to help if he ever needed it. It was all very kind; annoying since he'd hidden away for a few weeks to try and see if it would die down, but still kind. It did nothing for him, but it was appreciated none the less.
Right now he had to run in and out of the grocery store, try and make it quick so that he wasn't stopped for too long. He did have work tomorrow but it was only for a few hours. Desk work to make sure he was ok, then he'd be eased out onto the field again. Fingers crossed that no one recognized his face. Fingers crossed.
