MAGAZINE : HIGH LIVING MAGAZINE STORY : INTO THE MYSTIC

Harold Julian shot this enchanted forest story in his native land of Hawaii. He was inspired by all things fantasy, whimsy and magic. Harold worked with fashion editor Kyle Kagamida of High Living Magazine to bring the story to life. The talent pictured is Kate Schuette of Kathy Muller Talent. Ashlee Valeros styled hair and Lecia Littman was on make-up. The photograph of the door that is enveloped in flames was shot on location and in camera without special effects. We're loving the contrast of the greens in the natural environment and the pops of red and yellow from the flames and flowers.

When Brian Steege first shared this photo of a little pomeranian puppy yawning we had to get the back story on how it was created. Brian had put out a casting call to breeders for a book project and a breeder called in with an offer to bring in a litter of pomeranian puppies for him to photograph. Puppies are always a bit of a wild card on set as they haven’t been trained yet. This little guy was on set longer than anyone would have expected him to last and when he felt like it was time to call it quits, he let out this yawn. One click of the camera and a photograph was made where a dog had embodied a human emotion we don’t really have a word for, but we all know it well. Animals always provide insight on the experience of being human - a phenomenon that Brian Steege captures beautifully on film.

MAGAZINE : S/SHARP   STORY : NHL MENSWEAR

Raina + Wilson collaborated with S/Sharp Magazine to shoot a menswear story featuring NHL players. The athletes were staying at the Ritz Carlton for an NHL event, so the R+W team brought the studio to the Ritz where the men were groomed and styled to perfection. Pictured above are Roman Josi from the Nashville Predators on the right and Jacob Toruba of the Winnipeg Jets. There are more NHL personalities and fine menswear to see on the Raina + Wilson blog.

Thomas Chadwick set out to the Foster Street beach in Chicago to photograph a portrait of Aygemang Clay, a model and the Director of Business Development at Topoftheline.TV, a custom tailored shirt company. Aygemang has spent years as a model and while traveling on location to Hong Kong, he stumbled into a tailors shop where he ordered 2 custom shirts that made him feel like a million bucks. He came back to the states with a fascination for how custom shirts are tailored and he decided to set up shop and take the idea mainstream. Aygemang had followed Thomas’ work and asked him to shoot his portrait for his lifestyle brand which incorporates his shirts and the brand that is the man Aygemang Clay himself.
