Seriously though if God is for you who can be against you? He holds the keys to life and death. This life is so incredibly small in comparison to eternity. The rich may get more and more wealth in this life...but they can't take it with them to their graves. So I choose to lay my treasures in heaven!

Be Kingdom Minded.

What does that mean exactly? How does someone go about being... kingdom minded? "Set your hearts on things above..." (Col 3:1-2). It's making your number one priority to advance God's kingdom and glory. It's nice to talk about. Probably convicting to actually think about. Giving up everything for Christ and carrying your cross aren't easy commands to swallow. 

Lately, being kingdom minded has been very realistic in an unusual way for me. Summer's almost here. It's a new season in life. Although I've finished my first year at college, I am still super close to my youth group and absolutely love awesome people God has put in my life. God is lighting these kids on fire and moving in glorious ways that none of us will ever be able to wrap our minds around. Through this past year, I have seen God do some awesome, totally legit things. I can't imagine my life without these kids who I spend most of my week with.

But reality's setting in. I'm never gonna have this year, this week, this summer again. In a few days, I'm headed off to Thailand for a month. One of my friends is leaving a couple days afterwards to spend only-God-knows-how-long in Kensington. A few friends (and a sister) are headed to Ecuador soon for a couple weeks. Most of the seniors will be leaving. And the girl who I'm always drinking Mountain Dew with, having awesome God conversations with, and saying the same things as, is leaving soon for missionary school for six months. (p.s. you guys better keep me updated on all your God sightings =)

It's exciting and sad at the same time. But, honestly, it all goes back to being kingdom minded. Yes, I'm extremely sad to be loosing some of the people I spent most of my weeks with and have been in youth group with for six years now. Then I think about it. God has been blowing all our minds with what He's been doing when we are all together. Imagine what He is gonna do as we all scatter to the outer edges of creation?! We are all going to be advancing His kingdom and bringing glory to God's name on whatever continent or city we are in. Think of the impact God will be able to have by using us wherever He takes us? Then I think about eternity. I am going to be able to spend all of eternity with these people doing what we were made to do: be in God's presence and worship Him. How awesome and totally amazing is that gonna be???? No, it's never gonna be the same. God's got something better in store.
