I need a Marquez brothers thesis. Alex simply lights up Marc's world. As simple as the dogs belonging to him but sharing with Marc and Marc just falling in love with Shira. The things that Alex does knowingly or unknowingly that keep Marc same. Marc being the motivating force for Alex, pushing for him to ride instead of aiming at mechanic. Being terrified at his race (the famous handholding gif). And it's so difficult to maintain this when you have a brother like Marc but Alex handles the media around it so well. He shuts it down quick if questions get too Marc centric without coming across as bitter or annoyed. The pressure of being one of the few people that can get through to Marc regarding injuries.

OKAY this is exactly the kind of early morning thinking i should be doing so to put our heads together anon: the marc alex thesis is...that i get incredibly sad when i think about them for too long because it's like how are two souls so inextricably bond together like this :(( alex wanted to be a mechanic on a team but marc kept encouraging him to race...when alex would wait for marc at parc ferme back when they raced in different categories and marc would just explode with all the joy his body couldn't contain upon seeing alex...the years where they won duo championships especially...the fact that they look nothing alike and altogether too similar. god. i also think about the fact that everyone said marc was a remarkably mature child for his age back when he was barely clearing the handlebars of a motobike, and also how he entered the premier class barely two decades on this earth. and honestly, how this sort of shielded alex from similar expectations paradoxically. marc was always the center of attention, so in a way this allowed alex to grow up in a way marc never could, because marc had to grow up no matter what; he came at the world too fast, his talent preceded his age. and i think ultimately alex is what keeps marc feeling normal and he is why marc can say with his full chest that he's a normal person even though, like, he's actually categorically insane. now as for alex's side it's like, he reciprocates this protection by removing himself as someone who needs to be protected in a situation. he's the one that marc can show his true face with, even though this could hurt him but alex understands this and he just. doesn't. he just gives all his priority to marc and none to himself and this is also a dangerous way to love. the fact that he has to be the one to tell marc not to race with diplopia is just insane to me too (unrelated but i had to mention it) because either marc would not stand to reason with anyone else or NO ONE ELSE WOULD TELL HIM THIS TRUTH. and it's like, even though alex has the most normal time with his career, marc still thinks its the most incredible thing every time alex wins, even though he's done it all before. alex is always waiting for marc, marc always goes to find alex.

Same annon here, I forgot to put possible in there. But I'm guessing, as Marc had stated himself, he has ruptured the ligaments. Which, yes is actually a terrible thing, but depending on what ligaments it is, the time frame will be different. Unfortunately, it's the bad arm, so we just gotta hope.

what i gathered is that people were raising eyebrows over alex potentially racing marc differently (which like. is fairly normal i think altho i can understand why it might bother people) but then all of it swerved towards rosquez/2015 discourse as usual and from what i’ve seen vale fans are calling marc fans’ interpretations of vale and 2015 as a whole reductive and saying they didn’t delve into it enough to see all the context and how marc was disrespectful and annoying towards vale, and marc fans are saying well even with the context 2015 was pretty malicious on vale’s part and doesn’t really excuse the whole jorge/marc conspiracy thing
