“Not where it really matters. What you all consider wisdom is not something I really have.” There was something nice about people thinking he wasn’t as smart as they were. People underestimate people they think are less than them, so he’s less likely to be taken seriously and he can do as he pleased before someone got suspicious. A blessing in disguise, even if his companion didn’t see it that way.

“It is a good thing you are here to help me stay out of trouble though.”

This world was very agreeable to the Servant’s state. The ample magical energy in the air did well to fuel his self-replenishment. Even so he had been drawn to this place, to this woman as though seeking a Master. There was a powerful flame that burned within her that resonated with the black fire that consumed his soul. The flames of revenge were often drawn to one another. And hers out of all the others burned brightest to his eyes.

Sval held Aly close, sharing a moment of quiet tenderness with her. Such moments were rare and even the short ones they took full advantage of. Even if that just meant sitting together for a few minutes. But in this case the day was winding down. The sun was dipping low toward the horizon and Sval’s eyes were slowly closing, perhaps for a nap.

But his eyes snapped open at the feeling of her soft lips against the exposed skin of his neck. Soft kisses trailed over his skin quickly drew small sounds of contentment from Svalgaard and a smile to his face.
