so,,,,,, i hear you ship ethan/alabaster/nico..

omfg anon, i dunno where you heard that, but,,,,i have to tell you that………

you are indeed correct!! i do ship ethan/alabaster/nico!! it’s been quite a while since i thought of this ot3 tho. these cynical outcasts who got the short side of the stick time and time again, who for all intents and purposes had all the reasons (and then some) to give up, but choose to find something to fight for anyway

i find it sweet to think that these three kids could have found kindred spirits in each other; because they know how it feels to loose something important to you (an eye, your siblings, basic human dignity), i think it’d be especially touching if these outcasts learned to trust again, to have hope again because they found homes in each other

(further ethanicobaster ramblings under the cut bc i can never make these shipping posts short)

so far, im thinking of au about them (not that there’s many aus for them - we definitely have to fix this, mon ami) where alabaster & ethan were together during the events of pjato, and when his boyfriend died, alabaster was devastated.

i mean, imagine alabaster trying to bring ethan back to life with a complicated spell that took months to prepare, and a hazy humanoid figure starts to take shape in front of him. the image of ethan smiles at him, and alabaster can’t believe his eyes; he moves towards the apparition, fingers trembling as he reaches out to ethan - only for the mistform to collapse at his touch.

imagine alabaster wailing and just. fucking sobbing and raging after that. imagine him explaining this to nico. nico stares at the bags under alabaster’s eyes, the gauntness of his face, the desperation and pain in his green eyes - and it’s like nico’s tweleve years old again, looking into the mirror after percy jackson told him that his sister didn’t make it.

so against all rhyme and reason, they go on a quest to bring ethan back from the dead a la orpheus/eurydice - except alabaster finds himself falling for his seemingly surly yet secretly sweet tour guide whereas nico finds out that he has a thing for heroic rebels with green eyes. also, maybe brave, ambitious, one-eyed japanese boys because alabaster paints such a beautiful picture of ethan in his mind (when he’s not constantly cursing him for dying, that is HAHA)

but yeah, i didn’t think this through much but eventually ethan comes back from the dead and boyfriends happen!! of course there’s that long process where ethan and alabaster try to find out how they fit with each other now, where ethan notice the glances between alabaster & nico and finds that he’s surprisingly ok wt it, especially since they both spend a fair amount of their time staring at him as well, hehe

also, i’m throwing in this random headcanon from my old ethan/alabaster headcanon pile (which i was inspired to look for, thanks to u, anon), where ethan has this weird thing where he pulls a Javert and walks across edges of tall buildings and occasionally telephone wires. (because he’s an anime protagonist at heart.)

of course, ethan never actually falls because he has the perfect balance, but that doesn’t stop alabaster from preparing an incantation or nagging nico. “nico, get your boyfriend down from that building before he hurts himself” “he’s your boyfriend too, you know” “not when he’s 50 feet high he’s not”
