for the end of the year asks, 11, 14 and 24
11. something you want to do again next year?
run another half marathon!
14. favorite book you read this year?
hands-down hello, beautiful by ann napolitano. i love books that follow characters (especially families) through time, and this felt reminiscent of little women to me. as someone who has struggles with depression, i related to one of the characters (and related to other characters for other reasons) and found it a devastating but beautiful story. very, very real. the only book that's ever made me cry.
24. did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions?
i don't know if i made explicit resolutions this year; i didn't really write in my journal from sept 2023-march 2024, but usually on my list of resolutions include taking care of my mental health, getting outside/moving my body, and being more intentional with my time. i would say i definitely kept up with the first two, and the last one i want to work on, particularly replacing social media scrolling with literally any other habit. my screen time is awful and i want to focus on things that add to my life (friends! reading! working out! exploring new places! cooking!)
thanks for asking <3
