The mundanes had a terrible sense of direction and order, they were used to bumping into each other as if it was a normal thing. A genuine smile spread over his lips as he looked at Alice. “ I was convinced you are a Nancy Drew fan from the start.” It was a joke but it meant so much more. Nancy Drew was something Betty grew up, fell in love with and something that inspired her to seek for mysteries. Nancy Drew has inspired Betty in so many ways and finally, he truly saw who Alice was. She had make mistakes, sure but at the end of the day she was always looking after her daughter, wanting her to have a better life than she did. If Alice knew this from a Nancy Drew book, it meant she was more invested in her daughter’s hobbies and had tried to understand her way more than she was showing. And the only thing he could imagine was that while little Betty was sleeping, Alice too was trying to figure Nancy and her mysteries, hoping that one day she could help her daughter figure the mystery that life was.
