BAYITH - NEW YORK @thebayith BAYITH was born in early 2016 in the kitchen of a Brooklyn, New York city apartment. Since the beginning, the emphasis has been on thoughtful design details and sustainable sourcing. Each piece is inspired by timeless aesthetics, natural elements, and the celebration of gathering together for events big and small. It’s no coincidence that BAYITH means “of the home (and community)” in Hebrew. Years ago, founder and designer Catherine Schiff shifted her focus from fashion to table textiles because she loved the sense of community involved in dinner parties. We not only love to talk about growing a sustainable business, but we also try to walk the walk. We start by using seed paper and recycled paper in our packaging, hiring local NY seamstresses, expanding our offering to rentals, and we're always looking for ways to improve our footprint. For 2018, we are aiming to donate 10% of our profits to an organization focused on clean ocean causes. Let us know if there’s an organization in this field you really admire.
