This split is a lot weirder. My best guess is that these bands are both from Ohio, but they’re very different. Ethicist plays a kind of melodic/melancholic black metal that could be considered post if you’re a fucking hipster, but it’s not really. Their only song here has its moments, but that’s mostly it. Their ventures into noise are interesting. Meanwhile, Clouded starts off in the same vein with a Celtic Frost inspired intro just to turn into full madness after a minute. So yeah, it’s mathcore from the more chaotic kind with no real structure at all, but it’s one hell of a material. Sometimes they page in some screamo as well.
