              vision blurs red,  blood mingling with teared gaze.  the crimson leaks from her eyes and leave staining trails along her cheeks.  she hates this.  the loss of control leaves a pounding in her head and a bitterness in her heart.  it’s almost primal when it happens.  all that anger she keeps carefully bound inside pushes it’s way forth until it all comes out at once.  it pours out of her in a torrent of furious energy,  leaving corpses in her wake and her every nerve raw.  she never knows how to pull it all back in.  chest rises and falls with heavy breaths,  fingernails bite into the palms of her fisted hands and her mind is fragile,  over-exerted to a breaking point.   and still,  there is so much more rage and pain she could release.  it’s all she is sometimes.  just a bottomless well of sorrow and wrath. 

she almost flinches when she feels the warmth of another’s touch.  but it’s the familiarity of her soul which stays her.  it’s the gentleness of fingers lightly sliding along a hand,  which finally makes her fist start to unfurl.  lashes flutter rapidly as her pupils begin to constrict back to their normal state.  magnolia turns her head to look towards the other woman,  gaze refocusing.  ❝  are...  ❞  her throat feels hoarse.  she might have been screaming when she attacked their assailants   ❝   are.  you...okay?  ❞

THE HEATER HUMMED,  NESTLED IN THE UPPER CORNER OF THE PRIVATE ROOM,   and yet samantha couldn’t shake herself of the cold that had settled on her skin.   even after her hurried attempt at cleaning herself up,  faint streaks of blood painted the length of her arms.   she shrugged her jacket over her shoulders in an attempt to cover up   the unsightly reminders   of the night they had just had.   nurses milled around the room,  and sam is grateful for their attentiveness.   she only wished they would stop peering in to get a peak of the girls who had become   woodsboro’s latest media sensation.   with a shaky sigh,  she dropped her head into her hands,  and stared at the spotless tiles under her.   with every blink of her eyes,  another scene from the bloody night flashed before her and the tension that had knotted in her stomach grew   tighter and tighter.   she lifted her head when she heard the rustle of her sisters blankets,  and pulled the chair closer to the edge of her bed.   ❝   hey,   ❞   she rested a gentle hand on tara’s arm,  surprised to find her fingers meeting skin as cold as her own.

with a mild furrow of her brows,  she carefully pulled the hospital blanket higher up.   it felt foreign,   caring for her sibling.   it had been years since she had last seen her,  and a mass murder spree wasn’t exactly the reunion she had anticipated after five long years.   seating herself back into the stiff chair,  her leg bounced rhythmically.   despite the doctors advice to rest,  the adrenaline rushing through her kept her   wide awake   and on her toes.   where there should have been a sense of relief,  there was nothing but a build up of emotions that she erected her walls up around.   a dam that was cracking at its seams   the further the night dragged on.   she swallowed hard,  another brick to the wall that kept her feelings in check,  and turned her undivided attention back to her sister.   every now and then her eyes would flicker to any motion near the door,  only to spot the tan brown of a cop's uniform passing by.   ❝   we don’t have to do this now,  but I just wanted you to know that   i’m here.   ❞   she said the words with a finality she hoped felt as heavy as it did on her tongue.   ❝   i’m here to talk if you need to.   ❞   finally here for you,  tara.

 no   word   had   been   sent   that   she   was   coming,   and   there   was   no   invite  sent.   there   wasn’t   a   banquet   planned,   or   any   other   reason   he   could   think   of   the   top   of   his   head   to   why   she   would   be   here.   the   hairs   on   the   back   of   his   neck   have   risen   and   he   swallows   down   the   lump   in   his   throat.   but   nevertheless,   he   extends   a   hand   to   help   her   dismount   her   stead.

idk if you've been asked this before but i'm just curious - what do you think would've happened with grace and with her relationship/s with the de lomas' if she hadn't picked the hide and seek card ?

i love this question !  i’m gonna be blunt, she would end up miserable. they aren’t like her & i think that’s exactly why she pulled the card that she did, she was too good for that family, too kind hearted & too pure. there would never be a day that she willingly partook in the goat sacrifices / or if the card got pulled in the future. it would be hard for her to accept that this dream family she’s been wishing after ended up being a nightmare & i don’t think it would be long before that bubble got pooped & she had to face that.  tony - her relationship with him would have been nonexistent, she is very well aware that he does not like her & after trying a few times to get him to warm up to her she would eventually just give up . . . when he talks, she’s usually there with a whispered side comment or an eye roll.  becky - i think her relationship with becky would have been strong, she really wanted that mother figure & grace will overlook a lot if becky gave that to her. she is definitely someone that grace puts an effort forward with to have a good relationship. she’d do whatever becky asked of her tbh.  emilie - i think her & emilie would have vibed a lot tbh, grace would gravitate toward her during holidays / social events. emilie honestly doesn’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks of her & is coping in her own way that is a path grace would likely follow the more she found out about the le domas family.  daniel - she’s always had a level of comfort with daniel that is sort of natural honestly, he hits on her & she gives him little smiles & never really tells him to knock it off. she enjoys his company & like emilie, it’s a familiar path for her to walk. i can see all three of them ditching a dinner to go get high in a bathroom & talk shit about everyone. she feels like she can be completely honest with daniel, call him out on shit but that she could tell him about concerns between alex & her that he won’t criticizes / blame her for.  i truly think one way or another those two are going to find each other.  alex - it’s complicated, i don’t think alex & grace are capable of having a healthy functional relationship. they had 18 months of fun & sex, & travelling without responsibility. but sooner or later the two of them are going to resent each other, she’s going to want to be involved with the family, he doesn’t & there really isn’t a middle ground in this situation.  she’s gonna want a family of their own, & if they got to that stage & she found out what happens when you pull that card ??? she’s gonna fucking lose it. plus alex seems like the type of guy who goes on ‘business’ trips & they are more pleasure trips if you know what i mean & for awhile grace wouldn’t think anything of it but she’s always seen the red flags with alex, eventually she’d stop ignoring them just because she loves him. divorce is generally the endgame for these two when it comes to any scenario i work out.  helene - grace avoids like the plague & if she never had to have a conversation with that woman in her entire time as a le domas, she’d be fine with that.  charity & finch - again, she’d try, they are the spouses . . . that should bring them some solid ground but i don’t think it really would. charity was full in & wanted the money, & the life & grace never thought of marriage like that. she would enjoy charity’s humor tho & maybe . . they could find some common place considering their upbringings but unlikely. finch is an idiot & we all know this & i really don’t see grace having much of a tolerance for his shit.  georgie - fuck that little clown, xo grace.

                    it boils down to this :  trust.   eyes drag their gaze from the abandoned gloves to her hands,   and then to her eyes.   somewhere in the depths of his mind,   realisation attempts to push aside any irrational concerns.   magnolia trusts her,   and if there is one person able to sway him in a similar manner that olivia,   it’s her.   but in the absence of olivia’s anchoring presence,   his nature reverts back to a trapped beast.  the walls are confining,   space seemingly growing more narrow with every breath he takes,   and peter feels the harrowing absence of his counterpart ;   fingertips twitching,   air hot and electrified.   if he doesn’t find olivia,  what then?   how much longer does he have until he blows up and destroys everything with him?     “ okay, ”     he finally says.     “ what do you need me to do? ”

   she    bartends    /    serves    !    it    was    an    easy    job    for    her    with    flexible    hours    &    a    schedule    that    can    manipulate    without    much    stress    while    she    was    going    to    school.    she’s    able    to    support    herself    afterwards    as    well    which    is    how    she    sort    of    got    stuck    in    the    cycle    &    hasn’t    done    much    with    her    business    degree.    serving    gives    you    a    sort    of    freedom    with    your    life    that    she    enjoyed.    after    that    night,    it    takes    her    some    time    before    she    goes    back    to    work    &    truthfully    she    doesn’t    really    go    full    time    /    in    the    capacity    that    she    used    to    work,    being    in    large    groups    of    people    after    everything    /    loud    noises    put    her    on    edge    &    she    has    the    money    to    fall    back    on    so    that    she    really    doesn’t    need    to    work,    she    just    does    it    to    force    herself    out    of    the    house.    but   add    in    her    injuries    &    how    they’ve    affected    her    longterm,    it’s    a    lot.    if    this    is    in    a    verse    where    daniel    survives    &    she    is    with    him,    she    works    at    a    little    cafe    near    their    apartment    that    is    far    more    lowkey    &    it    gives    her    something    to    do    (    she    stays    home    with    luna    after    they    have    her    ).    future    wise    in    her    base    canon,    i    think    that    she’ll    eventually    get    it    together    &    look    into    putting    the    le    domas    fortune    to    good    use    in    a    way    that    she’ll    see    fit    where    she    can    be    behind    the    scenes     &    in    control,    but    for    now    yeah,    that’s    where    she    is    at.
