like i can def understand the reason for wanting to slay safi bc??? yeah it's fuckin dangerous, it literally reshapes ecosystems, but like????? it was just Vibing!!!!! granted it was also luring an incredibly destructive black dragon to consume its energy but STILL i don't recall that we knew anything about alatreon when safi was first discovered? all we knew was it was Big it was the mature form of xeno'jiiva and it was (rightfully) pissed off about its nap being interrupted and its nest being invaded by hunters
PERSONALLY and maybe i'm Biased because i like safi a lot and all but i feel like letting it be May Have been better?? more time to study it and how it works and whatnot, it didn't seem even slightly interested in anything outside of the secluded valley save for the first cutscene where its discovered and it comes back into the nest (possibly was out hunting?) and considering how much energy there IS in the secluded valley it seems like it wouldn't be an immediate danger to anything in the area for a LONG time; not to mention it's in the GUIDING LANDS so like?? definitely not an Immediate Oh Shit Threat to, like, Anyone LMAO
let safi be and take out the alatreon and it would have been Fine, but even if we DIDN'T take out alatreon in time a black dragon level safi would have been cool as HELL and made for a REALLY fun and challenging fight, especially if it Would end up gaining the elemental abilities and perfecting them (going in line w the jiivas being called the "perfect being")
but no😔 instead we got fatalis and everybody promptly forgot about safi and alatreon and the fact that safi Also seemed to be actively malicious and angry</3 gotta let the big bad get his spotlight I Guess
i don't even think anyone talks about safi after you beat ala and fatalis either? the most there is is the OCCASIONAL reference to alatreon iirc but absolutely nothing on safi and alatreon and how we "needed" to figure out the connection💔💔💔💔
