☆ ┇ ever since the first time guanghong met the unstoppable force that was leo’s mother, all guanghong had wanted was to make a good impression. he hadn’t asked for much, he hadn’t been expecting that she would talk to him a lot– he would satisfied with them just being civil, exchanging quiet smiles and sharing a wish to take good care of leo. that was all guanghong had been expecting when he had stood outside the door of the de la iglesia household for the first time, leo by his side, backpack on his back and a little gift bag in his hands. a good first impression, that’s all he had wanted.
he hadn’t been expecting her to be so welcoming, so kind and open, with a smile that guanghong could recognize from leo’s features. perhaps he should have been expecting it– after all, she was leo’s mother; leo, the actual embodiment of sunshine. it made sense for her to be so warm and kind too. it had admittedly taken some time for guanghong to get used to it (not even the people guanghong lived with hugged him this much), but after several visits to leo’s home, guanghong found some familiarity in her warm hugs and comforting words. it made him feel less like the outsider he really was, and more like a part of the family.
– “ i don’t mind, ” guanghong chuckles, sat on leo’s bed, a wide smile on his face. it was just the two of them now, so guanghong had no trouble talking about this, “ you know i love your mom. ” it wasn’t even an exaggeration; was there really anyone capable of disliking leo’s mom? “ though i think i much rather prefer being your boyfriend rather than your brother. ”
