Emotions That I Simply Do Not Have || AntiFlo
With a cracking noise, Antonin Dolohov appeared out of darkness, and stared at the empty street in front of him. It wasn't like him to show up at the homes of his comrades unannounced, but desperate times called for desperate measures, and what he was dealing with certainly qualified as desperate. Pulling his hood over his head, he began his trek down the road, and toward the towering home at the end.
He was rather unsure what he was going to say, what he could say without making himself out to be weak and traitorous. In fact, it seemed he'd been fighting his thoughts for weeks, his inadequacy seeming to plague him at all hours of his days. A proper Death Eater couldn't have emotions that got in the way of their duties, they couldn't have feelings that threatened what they believed in...empathy and sympathy could not exist in the mind of one who killed for the thrill of it. And so, he found himself backed into a corner, with only one option, and that was to find away to become unfeeling, to embrace the strength that came from apathy.
Though there were many fellow Death Eaters who were the epitome of what Antonin wanted to be, there seemed to be almost none that he could confess his weakness to, for fear of what would come of it. There seemed, really, to only be a handful or less in his ranks that he could call friends. And Florence Burke fit the categories of both being considered a friend, and having no remorse and no guilt for anything she had done...no sympathy for those that they were supposed to be against.
Approaching her home, Antonin paused, looking up at it before approaching the front door. He was even hesitant as he stood in front of the door, slowly coaxing himself into knocking, and praying that she didn't currently have other company. A pang of fear rose inside of him, as he thought over what he was going to tell her, and what consequences would befall him if Florence did not keep his secret. Finally, taking a deep breath, he pressed his fist to the door, knocking three times and awaiting a face on the other side of the door.
