pixel sketch of Etria (real name: Firth Talbot), my abomination OC!
Firth was -- is -- the bastard daughter of a noble-blooded man, and when that man remarried, his new wife took issue with the oldest living child of her husband being... well. A bastard.
Firth was handsome, and well-liked. She was good on the hunt, and spent much of her time with common folk in the square. It was well known that if a person needed help and could find the Bastard Talbot, she would do her best to send aid -- though she could not always send aid. She was always laughing. Always smiling, bright, with that chip-toothed grin, with her snaggle teeth.
After two assassination attempts failed (the first involving a horse being scared on the hunt, the second an "accident" involving a carriage), Firth was framed for involvement with the occult, with the Dark, with the Abyss and the Unholy Flesh.
of course, this was the attempt that stuck: Firth was clapped in irons and dragged away. Nobody quite knows what happened there. But -- well, the lurking, stuttering woman who can become a horrid beast of bile and rage? When she lingers in her human shape, she's said to be quite handsome. Her eyes are the same fetching, smiling green of the long-missing Bastard Talbot. She has a curious gap in her teeth, and so did the missing Firth.
Whatever she has lost, she does not speak of it. She focuses on other things, now, and can be caught staring beyond what can be seen.
She refuses to elaborate on what she sees, and her bile -- which makes her weep when she retches it up -- can sear through stone.
There are rumors that the flowers left on the steps of certain women are left by Etria, but this has not been confirmed.
I have to admit, as comfy as the Etrian Odyssey settings all are already, and as much as I love the retro inspired menu-based interface in general, I would love to run around the cobblestone streets and narrow winding alleys of any of the Etrian Odyssey hometowns.
There’s definitely going to need an ambulance :’D
As an early Easter gift, I'd like to show the SSO community, and horse lovers alike a little game called Horse Adventure: Tale of Etria! It's a free app for iOS and android that's basically diet SSO for your phone and tablet! It's really fun, and worth a download if you're up for it! I'm really enjoying the game and I think the community would appreciate some fun horse based questing for their mobile device. Happy Riding! Link for your convenience: http://www.horse-adventure.com
