I hope your midterms are going well! And I’m obsessed with Orabella! She’s so cute and I would love to hear more of her story
Thank you! Sorry for the late response, I sort of left it in my inbox so I had something to make me smile, because my midterms kind blended into finals this year with like a week? in between.
I'm so glad you love Orabella, so heres a bit more of background on her. She's a princess that was sent away at birth to protect her from a dangerous group her father had angered. Knowing this group would never look somewhere as unmannered as a pirate ship the king hid his daughter aboard The Untamed Lady, a ship belonging to Captain Rosales. As Orabella grew up on the ship she was protected by Silas, an orphan who also grew up on the ship. Of course, theyre both pretty and young so yall know where this is heading, but just after they can confess their love the group that sought Orabella's life is destroyed and she must return home against her own wishes. There's a lot more to it but we don't have the time so here's a chibi I did recently of her and a semi recent doodle of Silas:
Black Furies aren't the only Garou who can be stone butch dykes ok
... sometimes they're Silent Striders
(work in progress of Roaring Metal, Silent Strider Galliard, who is a chunky, brawny lesbian. i've had her for a while but never drawn her for some reason???)
They just dress a LITTLE differently, is all.
(Runs-Like-Hell, Garou-Born Red Talon Ragabash)
(Controlled Shock, Homid Glass Walker Philodox)
- Runs-Like-Hell lives on the Sept of Bloody Treeth in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Being in the Whelp's Compromise is a struggle sometimes. It's alright, though, because she sacrifices dogs to Griffin, and any dogs she finds out alone go right to her Patron.
-Controlled Shock is from the Sept of New Minds, which is in Cambridge. She's not precisely keen on the Silver Fang who runs the Sept, but Oli (as Controlled Shock is often called) at least gets respect as a Philodox. She's one of the minds behind the PHASE-LOCK INITIATIVE among the region's Glass Walkers-- an up and coming camp focusing on proving their worth to the larger nation by living their auspices as fully as possible, to an intense and somewhat intimidating degree. The ultimate goal of the initiative, however, is to recover the Glass Walker ancestor ties again, and recover the Wolf that many think the tribe has lost. They think that by throwing themselves into their auspices and becoming exemplars at their tasks, they will be ultimately found worthy of what their fellow Glass Walkers lack.
So -- Kaz steps down eventually, and when she does, the Bone Gnawers get together to decide who takes over the sept of Bloody Teeth. The vote is Rat's Bloody Song (otherwise known as "Odds"), a Galliard of Fourth Rank, which leaves her in lower standing than the Elders... but a Bone Gnawer sept has a peculiar view on elders and leadership anyways, so she gets on fine. Odds has Sire-Right to the Shadow Lords. Not that she'd ever take it. Her dad didn't do shit for her, for her mom. When mom died, Odds hit the streets, and he didn't do shit. Tried to come back into her life when she had her first change, sure. But she didn't let him. It ended badly for her -- she's got scars to prove it. But Rat was impressed, and that was the end of it.
post-work low res sketch of Aarach, the Black Spiral Dancer Philodox. Fun fact about Aarach: her first change happened when she, at age 15, tried to kick a glass walker kinfolk out of the neighborhood (as directed by "Aunt Kelly", one of the black spiral dancers who oversaw the kinfolk blocks). Guy wouldn't leave, tried to sneak around her, and Aarach got real mad about it and ripped him apart. Same day, Aunt Kelly and "Uncle Rodrigo" had her walking the spiral. She's really lucid and put together, having a strange and logical approach to what she does. Of course, what she does is usually something along the lines of "justify the wyrmish business of her faction", so ... y'know.
Sketches I did of Kaz (bone Gnawer elder ahroun, leader of the Sept of Bloody Teeth) and her gal, Cricket (Malkavian Neonate)
Second picture featuring, of course, lyrics from "Haunted" by Poe, because it fits very well
Kaz is 26/27 and had her first change at about 14/15, which is why she's an Elder by now -- that whole time was spent with her face in the fray, and her rite of passage accidentally put her in the middle of a Wyrm den. She'd essentially either be carrying a lot of renown, or be dead.
And Elder is in both senses-- that Renown with spirits, but also having been elected to the position by the Bone Gnawers of the city.
