I’m exchanging angry emails with Etsy that just recently stopped charging Canadian taxes like, ya know, any basic selling platform working in Canada, and told me to adjust my prices myself and “consult a finance expert". But they removed all means to adjust the taxes by province from the seller platform. So they’re basically asking me to charge taxes to everybody (even non canadians because I can’t charge differently by country) AND they’ll get to collect their (heavier and heavier) fees on it.

This is such bullshit. I’m trying to find a workaround but it looks like I won’t be able to sell in... my own country, because they broke the means to collect taxes effectively, that they had working perfectly just a few days ago. And I can’t just cut Canada from my shipping options since I’m selling from there.

I haven’t seen much talk about this over here on Tumblr, but it’s been quite the thing with every local seller I follow on FB. It’s the continuation of the mass migration~~~

Well Etsy just sent me an email telling me I got too many orders and that they reduced my visibility to ensure I can complete them on time. So my products don’t appear in searches anymore, and can only be accessed with a direct link to my shop. Just wow. As if I’m not able to manage my big rushes now after years of business. Very infantilizing. Much algorithm hate.

Anyway, they’re right that I got maaaany orders, just got over my capacity for Halloween this night, so I’m going to close all my character/costumey hoodies TONIGHT! The Pride collection and some original/basic models will stay, but if you wanted something for Halloween it’s today!!!

Alright, it’s that time of the year when I realize I need to boost my prices again. As I came back from my break and need to restock soon, I see that fabric became more expensive at my regular shops, and that the price of shipping has been hiked up yet again. 

So if you wanted to get one of my hoodies, better get it this week-end! I’ll make the price changes (about 5$ per hoodie) this Monday!

Etsy shop on vacation for undetermined time.

Not so fun update: tendinitis is back and hurts a lot, on both arms. I saw my osteo but it didn’t really help this time. I got another appointment, and one with my family doctor. I’ll get my helper so my Halloween orders can be finished slowly but surely, and then I’ll rest 100% until I recover. I feel bad about having her come while we’re back in the covid red zone, but it’s still legal and we’re going to be super careful. I really just want to make sure all the younglings get their costume hoodie on time for Halloween. T_T

Having an awesome idea for an original hoodie, but no time to make it because I still have so many Raihan to do: my current struggle.

Sales have been noticeably slower this week. Indeed, the chinese providers have finally started making Raihan’s hoodie. Well it’s been good while it lasted, now I can rest a bit. XD

I got an email about one of my listings being desactivated due to copyright infringement with Bandai Namco. Me: did I have some Bandai stuff????

Turns out it’s the Miku Maekawa hoodie I was stuck with from a customer who canceled. I guess they made a round for Idolm@ster stuff. Fun part: the hoodie was inspired by a fanart. But it’s the names that count, I know that.

Reminds me that I’m walking on a f*ckin thin line every time I release a new model, and that I can’t be thankful enough to Toby Fox for his fan merch policies, and to all the AU creators that I asked and let me do what I do.

Alright guys, now that Halloween is over, I won’t feel bad for posting this: if you’re outside of Canada/USA and want to order my hoodies for the Holidays, please make sure to do so BEFORE NOVEMBER 15TH. If you want to order a custom hoodie, no matter where you are, same date! I will confirm the deadline for Canada/USA soon, but it will be in early December, so please make sure to order as soon as possible to avoid any stress! :)
