Etyen - Elephant in the Room
The latest track from Beirut, Lebanon producer Samer “Etyen” Etienne Chami, “Elephant in the Room” features as the B-side on his latest EP “Bebe”. A though notably minimal in structure, the track is a busy, chattering piece where jumbled textures and electronic kink flow in melodic dissonance. An electronic dance track built from entirely acoustic recordings, Etyen explains that the track from the kick to the main melody was composed by sampling the sound of broken acoustic instruments with inventive audio FX processing.
Inspired by David Lang's “Symphony For A Broken Orchestra”, you can check out “Elephant in the Room” alongside the pachyderm techno cascade of “Elephantasm”. "Elephant in the Room" appears on his Bebe EP with remixes from Petar Dundov & Stelios Vassiloudis and is released on Brazilian label Not Another:

ETYEN - Homosapiens (feat. Tala Mortada)
Hailing from Beirut, Lebanon, Etyen is the name of electronic producer Samer Etienne Chami, who is joined by featuring vocalist and friend Tala Mortada on their latest track for “Homosapiens”. On his latest single, a bustling techno shuffle of synthesized hand claps and undulating bass is juxtaposed to the light and wispy air of Mortada’s vocals. Gleaming with the sparkle of its crystalline aura, the muddled euphoria of the track was meant to capture a decade of friendship between the two as Etyen explains:
“This song is the result of 10 years of friendship between the pair, spending many nights getting drunk, dancing and fiddling around with music instruments, and being untethered human beings. ‘Homosapiens’ is an ode to the silliness of life and a gentle reminder that one should not taking oneself too seriously.”

Out of Love by ETYEN "Out of Love" is the second offering from Lebanese Electronica Musician and Red Bull Music Academy Alumni Etyen, 2 years after the release of his debut EP "Happy New Year". While the latter highlighted Etyen's strength in creating sweet and emotional piano-‐based electronica, "Out of Love" delivers a much different energy, blending stomping rhythms, haunting arpeggios and melodic progressions mixed in layers upon layers of texture. The EP consistently underlines the Lebanese producer's obsession with electronic sound design, and emulates his journey through electronic music discovery with meticulously crafted, detailed sounds and textures, formed from a diverse mix of influences, from Downtempo Electronica to Techno & Future Bass music. released November 12, 2016
