i think ppl cling to the eds nickname thing bc (at least for me personally) i don’t let ppl nickname me, i can count on one hand the people who have nicknames for me that are allowed, it’s just super special when i hear it from those ppl (bc one it like my aunt who i don’t see often or my best friend who i trust with everything etc) i feel like eddie it the same way? or ppl perceive him that way? like chris, abuela, maybe his sisters or aunts have nicknames for him too but buck wormed his way in there and made himself to the level of the ppl eddie loves? i dont love when ppl make buck use it everytime he talks to eddie in fic but once in a fleeting moment feels special

Ok like I agree w this I don’t hate it when it’s used sparingly in fic I just feel like at this point it’s extremely oversaturated in fanon and some people are way too interested in seeing it used in canon like I just wanna stop hearing about it 😩 let it go back to being like a baby tiny thing
