Heck, yeah! Hymathon 2023 so far, is a blast! So much cool information shared by lots of great people. Everyone in the Hymenoptera community are so supportive and kind! Pictured is a female Euceros on my finger, from 2017.

Meet the Ichs!
Idiogramma (Tryphoninae)
Diplazon (Diplazontinae)
Amblyjoppa (Ichneumoninae)
Theronia (Pimplinae)
Metopius (Metopiinae)
Opheltes (Ctenopelmatinae)
Echthrus (Cryptinae)
Chriodes (Nesomesochorinae)
Melanodolius (Sisyrostolinae)
There are over 40 subfamilies of Ichneumonids, I couldn't draw them all, but for the record, that Chriodes has seen some things.....😆
Ichneumonid wasps are notoriously difficult to identify, so I thought I'd draw some cartoon ones to make them more fun! :)
BONUS:
Campoplex (Campopleginae)
Therion (Anomaloninae)
Euceros (Eucerotinae)
Odontocolon (Xoridinae)
Coleocentrus (Acaenitinae)
Orthocentrus (Orthocentrinae)
Oxytorus (Oxytorinae)
Banchus (Banchinae)
Hyperacmus (Cylloceriinae)
I'm planning on drawing all 40+ subfamilies in a chart format. This should be fun. Wish me luck!
Bug of the Day
Here’s a bonus BotD (since I missed yesterday)...
Check out this AMAZING Ichneumon wasp (Euceros sp.) that came to the UV light a couple of nights ago. If you zoom in on the original photo, you can see the gorgeous antennae (they spread out and thicken from about segments 5 through 12).
Thanks to Eric Eaton for the id!
