It is a shame that Caprico is still unable to divest himself of such mundane habits, though he has mitigated their effects through the substitution of highly-efficient nutritional fluids.

Even though Caprico doesn't like people, he still goes to a futuristic bar to meet up with the owner, who's a client. He bought an android named Arthel from Caprico, and while she's popular with the customers, Caprico still thinks she's defective. Not only are her logic processors faulty, but Arthel behaves more like a human than an android.
Nevertheless, he still does a thorough exam to make sure she's okay. As he does so, a human named Ramon interrupts, defending Arthel. He thinks Caprico is trying to hurt her, and he will do anything to save the android he loves.
Caprico finds this relationship ridiculous. How could any human understand perfection, understand machinery? Someone like Arthel could never live up to the perfection that is Glow.
But after a shootout at the bar, Arthel is trapped under the debris. Ramon scrambles to dig her out, and he chastises Caprico that thanks to the inventor, Arthel now has a fear of dark, tight spaces. She remembers being in a box at Caprico's warehouse and how she hated the feeling.
The Envoy is surprised to hear this, wondering how an android could feel. He agrees to Ramon to fix Arthel and return her to him.
First, he tries giving Ramon a brand-new Arthel, but the young man insists he wants the original, the one who has a hard time remembering names, who comforts him when he's scared, and who makes him smile.
Caprico still doesn't understand humans, or why androids would want to be with them, but he decides to give back the original Arthel from the bar. She and Ramon embrace and then leave together.
Maybe there's more to machinery than Caprico realizes.
Connections
-Caprico met Glow when he first arrived at Whale Island during Into the Ruins to do research and experiments as part of their academic program. He drew inspiration for his experiments from the human body, as at the time he considered human structure to be similar to machines, from cells and cogs, to tissue connection and wires.
-The events of this Reflection take place before the events of Wave Invasion. By the time Nikki, Momo, and you arrive at Ruins to find Zoey's double-dealing supplier, the bar had already been destroyed in the shootout. Now, it's not as glamorous, but it keeps an avant-garde flair with Ramon as the new bartender.
-Arthel and Ramon appear again in Meaning of Alchemy. Caprico still needs to check on Arthel now and then to make sure she's functioning okay, but Ramon still hates and distrusts Caprico.
-As much as Caprico tries to appear heartless and aloof, he truly does care about others. When a girl from Wasteland comes to him in Fleeting Time, begging for help after losing her legs, he brings her into his factory and gives her mechanical legs.
Fun Facts
-While androids and robots have appeared before in other Reflections and in the game chapters, this is the first one to have one as an important character.
-When Ramon shows up to get Arthel after the repairs, he gives Caprico a 90-degree bow. This kind of bow is formal and reserved for addressing someone with a higher office or to express deep gratitude. You can learn more here.
Even though Caprico isn't a fan of crowds, or bars... or anything social, really, he still works hard throughout Euphonious Night to make the best machinery he can. After all, nothing is more perfect than a weapon or an android.
So, why is one of his androids so defective? What draws her to humans, and why does she insist on ignoring her creator?
