Idc what anyone says but Jules was absolutely stupid as fuck for drawing a bunch of dicks when she was supposed to be drawing a PICNIC for a NETWORK TELEVISION. Like um, hello they censor everything on network television. I love Jules but she was wrong as fuck for that and if I was Lexie I would never talk to her again after almost being fired for helping her ass out.
so Sam Levinson decided to kill all the substance of Euphoria’s main characters between season 2 and 3.
And then let the rest of them get killed by the end of this season or turn evil 👿 👿 👿 WTF!!!
Up until about episode 5 I had some hope that even though the first half of the season was kind of basic and unimaginative, that maybe it’s just a set up (a bad set up) for a twist to come at like episode 6 connecting some of the storylines together and making us feel like OHOoooo O.K, now this all makes sense. Especially with Nate’s “story line” and Jules’s “story line” that were barely part of this season at all. If season One was so af**ing good, and season two was pretty good, then season three should be “good-ish” at least…
But no, my hopes that this is going somewhere were way too high. This season and the conditions of it production were Unbelievably Unprofessional. I’m not very much chronically online, but It’s seems like all the gossiping turned out to be true. So how in the Hell could we have gotten a good final Act if:
1. too many actors didn’t have time in their schedule to shoot. And sadly one tragically died and another one got diagnosed with terminal ALS before production.
2. Some of the actors are unwilling to work with other cast members because “they don’t like each other”? Or “can’t get over personal feelings at work”? (What a way to signal to future show runners to not hire them to any tv show ever again🤨🤨).
3. The show’s musician which was integral to the show’s success quite a little before Airing time with a major diss.
4. The show runner lost the plot and the audience, due to being incredibly misogynistic and gross.
5. No one understood the direction the writing was going, to the point that actors didn’t even wanted to come back to another season (remember fallen heroes Cat, McKey, Gia and Ethen?)
HBO should have just canceled this season at the start!!!!! this season is tarnishing the legacy of the show. I don’t think there is a reason anymore to watch the show finale. Even if some of the characters will make it out alive in the end, why should we care? None of them are sympathetic or interesting anymore. For any of them to leave the situation they are in now with a sliver of our empathy, the show will need some serious deus ex machine devine intervention - Christmas Carol style miracle. one burning tree isn’t enough.
We will now:
never find out wtf is the deal with the third Jacobs child? what’s going on with Nate’s sexual identity crisis? How he got involved with Naz in the first place, and why didn’t he just gave him his car or his house to pay for the debt? It’s borderline insane to not just, go back to live with his mom, or go to college and start over. Nate is still like 20 something, which is barely adult. Why we pretending he is too doomed to start over? How is this ending at any way relevant to his Arc?
why Jules needed to quit Art school? What was the problem with dating rich married men who pay for everything, and also go to classes? How is she expecting to work at this profession? what happened to Cassie’s interests, or Maddie’s ambitions? The ice skating, the abortion, Maddie’s family? All not relevant anymore.
How the heck Lexi got a job working personally with a major studio executive, without any experience or even college degree? How is Rue working for a drug dealer > human trafficking pimp > the DEA, and somehow all this time still hasn’t relapsed at all? At this point I think even AI could have written a better plot, that is soooo bad
Jules when Lexi asked her to draw nice picnic in the park
Can someone with more time and talent write a video essay about how Lexi being the only female 'main' character not involved in sex work being a virgin is like the best example of the Madonna Whore complex. Send me the link please
Love how Lexi is minding her own business
Oh my GOD it just hit me that the way people hate on Lexi is the way people hate on problematic characters in other media, but because EVERYBODY is problematic in Euphoria it's the reverse. Lexi my dear, I'm so sorry that you're trapped in this hell that Sam Levinson created. You deserve a much better show. 😭😭😭😭
