2. worldbuilding can be romantic if u have anxiety trust

you don’t need to know anything about naruto to know i’m obsessed with two dead guys from there who barely affect the narrative. like. how did tobirama by himself get credited for establishing every system used post-warring clans era by the fledgling shinobi villages, while also helping his political disaster of a brother run their village?? who was kagami to him for mr stick up his ass to specifically compliment him for not going batshit crazy like the rest of his clan who max the trauma eyes out??? how much of that mess can i unpack in my typical short fic writer ways????

given that the few members of that clan we know have killed their entire clan and dragged the whole world into war to live in delusion…that’s not a high bar to clear i do not think kagami’s normal in the slightest !!!

umm anyways this started as a kagatobi bicker over the latter’s poor selfcare habits fic which i’ve alr written and am shamelessly happy to write again BUT i got sidetracked by what specifically tobirama’s holing himself up in the hokage tower working on so now it’s exploring how the shinobi academy was established, step by step.

BUT IT KEEPS GETTING LONGER i wanted a oneshot smt nice n easy i am glaring at the lads going “reconvince?” “reconvience.” and just getting their voices right is. explodes. terribly hard. why must they speak old timey why must that grate on my ooc-radar what am i to dooo i have like 3 versions of this fic and nailing the tone has been eluding me so bad.

that it blends like three separate headcanons doesn’t help but wtv !!! my life is a circus act and my clown ass is an ever faithful juggler. here’s a little bit from it !

so in this realm, kyoya's older brother (probably akito? feels the most right but i'm unsure currently) undergoes some scandal and begins to tarnish the family name (or whatever) so kyoya is sent by his father to curry favor in the public eye by competing on dancing with the stars.

i may change it so that kyoya does the scandal and then has to make up for it in this popularity grab/punishment because that makes somewhat more sense but we'll see.

i'm keeping the host club as the host club, but considering if someone in the show is going to be kyoya's pro or if I'm going to be my usual self and have a self-insert oc! most likely the later because kyoya's my favorite <3

i can also see a world where kyoya tries to keep this under wraps but then the host club (obviously) find out and then are in the audience as "kyoya's friends" AND THEN maybe the pro choreographs them into his freestyle in the semifinals.

want lots of character development here of kyoya having to actually listen and collaborate with someone to make art for the sake of it, not even to win technically but to appeal to the public. idk i watched the finale on tuesday and am reliving my childhood of watching it every monday.

i must admit i haven't read the manga as much as i've seen the anime so it's kind of based in that but we shall see!

13. Who reaches for the other's hand first?

Hmmmm i'm not sure honestly. I think we can all agree that Atsumu is pretty clingy and would probably use physical touch to show affection a lot. Touches are just very casual for him, he does it without thinking. So he would be the one to mindlessly take omi'sz hand in his. But I'm sure there was a time in the early weeks of their relationship where he was terrified of making Sakusa uncomfortable with his clinginess. And he would avoid reaching out for his hand having no clue that Sakusa was in fact waiting for it. Because in spite of his aversion to physical touch, after someone gains his trust Sakusa grows to love intimate touches like that. And would probably put way too much meaning in acts like holding hands too. So the first few times they held hands, i think, Sakusa reached out first.

16. Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer?

Atsumu, 100%. He canonically sleeps in and misses his bus every two days and yells at Osamu on the phone for not waking him up, even though Osamu actually did lmao

26. What would be their theme song?

Don't come at me for this, but i think like, they don't deserve anything aesthetic. They deserve lame 2010s rock. They deserve Not Another Song About Love by Hollywood Ending

woaw this got long, i have a Lot to say tho tbh i could always say More,,,

this started with me thinking abt their relationship in canon, and how little we see of it but how much is implied. like, i think they're adorable but to be clear i'm staying firmly pre-timeskip canon here lol

it's basically a non-linear exploration of how they got together and how they fell apart?? like in canon we see them as exes with a healthy/friendly relationship and i wanted to poke around more with that and the fractures in their romantic relationship >:3c

why'd they break up? how much into that can i dig? what other contributing factors are likely to have been there that weren't mentioned? how do those factors influence their developing high school relationship? how much does the little we have on their personalities affect whatever situations i put them in?

i suppose it's just about growing up and maturing, about expectations vs reality, about relationships [of all sorts] and finding ones that make you happy + that you're at peace with – tricky as that is.

oh and here's your snippet [from one of their first dates]:

“Boo!” Mika claps Daishou’s back lightly. He jumps a little and spins towards her. It’s a shame – she would’ve liked to feel his back for a little longer. “Yamaka-chan, when did you get here?” he asks, opening his arms shyly for a hug. She doesn’t hesitate to snuggle right into him; she’ll get him used to hugging her one day. Mika briefly imagines Daishou greeting her with wide opens arms. Neither of them are quite that bold – but it would be nice. “Just a moment ago, I didn’t want to interrupt.” She smiles sweetly, thinking about the way that girl got her worked up over nothing. She wants to complain, to tell him that she’s the only one allowed to flirt with him, to be in his space, but she doesn’t. Mika doesn’t have the right to claim him for herself yet despite how much she wishes she could. It’s fine. She’ll take all that Daishou’s willing to give her. “Nah, you wouldn’t be. She was just a bit lost.” Daishou’s words don’t change Mika’s feelings in the slightest. Shouldn’t it have? “Come on, let’s go this way.” He leads her off to the start of their date. She manages to stop thinking about that other girl, somewhere in his excited smiles.
