spotting a tiny wasp on an oak might lead you to think there's gall-making going on, which was what happened to me when i first saw this little blue toothpick. however (and the toothpick shape actually gives it away) this is a chalcid, Eusandalum sp., which could potentially be a parasitoid of gall wasps if not for the fact that it's a male. so really there was zero gall involvement going on here. this was just some guy

I want to thank everyone for their wonderful suggestions and support! I will definitely be busy for a while again! Yay! Inspiration! A warm-up drawing from this morning, a beautiful Eusandalum sp. (Eupelmidae). There are so many cool wasps out there. People are really missing out! Even yellowjackets are adorable and cute in my opinion. Wasps are the best. ❤️
