spotting a tiny wasp on an oak might lead you to think there's gall-making going on, which was what happened to me when i first saw this little blue toothpick. however (and the toothpick shape actually gives it away) this is a chalcid, Eusandalum sp., which could potentially be a parasitoid of gall wasps if not for the fact that it's a male. so really there was zero gall involvement going on here. this was just some guy
