It's interesting that the way Lewis characterizes both Edmund and Eustace is by having them idealize the wonders of the modern world.

In LWW, Edmund almost turns back from going to the Witch until he starts thinking about all the ways that he could improve Narnia, like putting in roads, and all the things he'll have when he's King. and then in Voyage, Eustace keeps harkening back to all of the conveniences there are in England, like comparing all the ways the Dawn Treader falls short to a modern cruise ship.

Sebastian/Eustace is the type of person who will constantly complain when cold and steal people's jackets but only put them around his shoulders so he just keeps complaining.

eustace has no dating experience at all! he's very inexperienced and tries to overplay that most of the time, but you can see right through him!

when you two start dating, you can sense him tense up whenever you're a bit too close to him. it's not that he doesn't like it, but you make him so nervous just with your presence

when it comes to hand holding, he never held anyone's hand before. maybe his father dragged him around by his hand before, but that's not the same

holding your hand for the first time makes eustace almost freeze in place. his eyes widen a little and he stops moving for a second

only when you gently squeeze his hand and look at him does he manage to gently squeeze your hand back, before his face slowly turns red

eustace doesn't tell you that he never did this before, but it's quite obvious to you. and when you ask him, he does open up to you, that he's never had anyone be physically affectionate with him before…
