Maria walked out of one of the back rooms, leaving a (very boring) meeting with some executives. She was going to leave immediately, until she saw Arnath off to the side, collecting papers from a desk.

She had nowhere else important to be; she could chat for a moment.

“Arnath.”

“I hadn’t expected you in today, I would have asked for coffee during the meeting.” She was joking, of course, that should be evident. Maria didn’t too often see Arnath, but she was fond of her.

“How is the internship going?”

“Variiii! Check this out!”

Alydia had printed out a webpage. It looked like a table with a bunch of numbers on it... because it was a table with a bunch of numbers on it! From Spiroogle AdSense. For her blog!

“Look! Look how many visitors I got last month. So much more than normal! And that means! So much more money than normal!”

While she’d gotten visitors before from this old restaurant review blog she began years ago, it was only recently she started seeing an uptick in ad revenue. Though it still was not enough to make a living off of, Alydia was still super excited.

“Yeah... gonna need to see your ID, bud.”

She was smiling, leaning on her elbows on the countertop waiting for Nikki to pull out his ID to buy the alcohol he wanted. Jill knew damn well how old he was; she’d known him for years, met him at this very same place buying very similar, shitty beer.

But if she didn’t card someone, she’d get fired, so she found it very amusing to card him every time he came into the store. It was written clear as day on her face.

“You been well? It’s cold out tonight, why don’t you hang out with me for a bit? I’m bored as fuck, dude.”

This part of town was full of non-humans, so the couple was in good company. And in good spirits! Muffet found it impossible to be unhappy, no matter the time or place, when she was with her girlfriend.

Muffet got three whole scoops on her ice cream cone, like she always did.

“I’m glad we’ve basically made ice cream dates ‘our thing,’ hun. Tastes just as good as it did on our first date, ahehehe~”
