going to do my best to quote my mother as exactly as possible after i told her i thought star trek strange new worlds is bad:

it's good! REAL star trek fans think it's good! you don't understand, people think the star trek movies are bad now, but back when the first star trek movie came out we hadn't had new star trek in 10 or twenty years! we had nothing! we went and watched the movie and we loved it! you don't underSTAND what it's LIKE to be DEPRIVED!!!! of star trek!!!!! you've always lived in a glut of star trek! you're spoiled! you don't understand, back then after we watched an episode of star trek that was it and we couldn't see it again, ever! you just don't understand what it's like! you have to love all star trek! strange new worlds is GOOD!!!
