Oh. OH. I’ve never even thought about this. That could potentially be a solution for a lot of my writing neuroses, and the inadvertent letdown that comes with posting something for a fandom/pairing that is tiny.

Tbh I hadn’t really thought about this option, but then Cherry brought it up and yeah 100% would recommend. I feel so much better about the kudos/comments I do get.

AU where Abby and Raven get together on the Ark, Clarke doesn't have to grow up so fast, and Raven goes on a solo mission to Earth that saves them all:

This is the beginning. When Abby Griffin shows up in the officially non-existent bar that is hidden in a particularly dodgy corner of Mecha station, it’s too late in the night for most of the inebriated patrons to notice who she is. But Raven notices, and smirks a little around the rim of her glass. How wonderfully inappropriate of a Councillor to be here.

When Abby hesitates after looking around the room, Raven sees an opportunity and wastes no time in beckoning her over. They have met before as patient and doctor, and Raven became acquainted with her daughter in a rather unfortunate fashion last year, but her interactions with Abby have been short and professional. Raven is curious to know what kind of woman the doctor really is, and to be honest, she also sees an opportunity to say a few choice words about the Council.

But as their glasses clink and Abby’s soft smile is directed at her, she finds herself far too intrigued to think about something as dull as politics.

By early morning when duty calls for both of them, neither wants to leave.

They are not prepared for what comes next. Secrets are not easily kept in a confined space, and doubt and fear intertwine with the exhilaration and warmth they find in each other. Clarke is convinced that their relationship is a way for Raven to get back at her for sleeping with Finn. And then there is Abby’s position, and their vastly different standings on the Ark, that complicates things.

But their troubles are overshadowed as a horrible truth about the oxygen supply is uncovered. When Raven learns that Abby already knew of this - had stopped it from going public years ago even - she realises that there’s still a lot they don’t know about each other. The ugly bits most of all.

Raven is chosen for converting an old escape pod into a makeshift probe that can examine if the Earth is inhabitable. Before long, she realises that the lack of quality parts means that the mission will be a hit and miss without a pilot. So she volunteers to take the pod down manually. She works herself harder than ever, determined to succeed. Determined not to think about anything else.

It doesn’t work, as Abby refuses to stop making sure that she eats and sleeps. She refuses to stop caring, and tries to talk her out of going, and somewhere between the chaos and the concern in the older woman’s eyes, Raven forgets to be hurt and scared and doubtful. But her mind it set on going to Earth. This is the only way to be sure if there’s another path for them than the one to destruction.

This is the end, they think.

But a healthy green forest and blue sky greet Raven as she steps out of the pod and takes her first breath of fresh air. The radio has been damaged in the landing, and combined with the abrupt realisation that she’s not the only human on the ground, it takes her longer than she’d like to send a message to the Ark.

She’s too late to save the hundreds of people that volunteered for the culling.

This should be the end, Abby thinks. But then she sees them; bright red sparks shooting from the surface. She wonders if it’s a hallucination, a way for her brain to cope with the horror she has just witnessed. But the flares move steadily closer, and Thelonius sees them too.

When Abby opens the hatch and climbs out, she is met by a glaring sun that momentarily blinds her. When she can open her eyes again, she sees lush mountains reflected in the still water of a lake, and Abby thinks it’s the most beautiful thing she has ever seen.

This is the beginning. They have built a settlement out of the wreckages of the stations that made it down. School have started up again for the children. The cooks are learning which plants to use and which to stay away from, the old earth skills proving somewhat lacking as radiation have created new species and destroyed a few of the old. Abby leads them now, chosen in a election open for all. The peace talks with the Grounders, while not smooth, are moving forward.

Raven glances at Abby, who sits on the other side of a crackling fire. Their eyes meet, and the hint of a smile passes between them. They almost dare to hope now, for a future much brighter than the bleak metal world they left behind. Raven hopes for sunshine tomorrow, at least.

evandre15 You know, it’s like we really can’t catch a break....

It’s become beyond exhausting, and I’m glad it’s become a more visible topic, but sometimes it still feels like we’re screaming into the void and media creators just don’t give a damn.

Yes, exactly. It’s like no matter where we are, we’re doomed to be pulp novel characters. We’re here to die or kill, or if we’re lucky, be sent to a mental institution. It is exhausting. 

How far have we really come? It doesn’t feel very far at all when we keep seeing the same things played out over and over, and the real shocker or twist is just having two women in love, alive, and relatively happy. It makes me want to stop watching TV entirely.
