Try This | Ian & Evanna
Expecting the unexpected, he mused. Leaning against his car, Ian waited for the last five minutes remaining of his wait to pass. He purposely had gotten ready early so he could have some moments of contemplation or ...preparation. The cooler Malibu air was refreshing and it relaxed him. He wasn't sure what he had gotten himself to asking Evanna out for a drink. They certainly had never had the most charming of times but he liked her. Sure, she was easy on the eyes but there was something in her. Defiance? Mystery? Ian didn't like her like that and he wasn't sure if he would. The one thing though he did know was that she was interesting and he wanted to lose himself to his curiosity for a night. Well, if everything went alright. He had a feeling Evanna hadn't been too excited for their outing. Letting a chuckle escape him quietly he sighed, closing his eyes for a moment.
The couple of weeks, or rather month, prior to this night had been exhausting. Engineering took it up a notch for its students and though Ian was good at his classes they certainly demanded a lot from him. Not only concentration but determination and play old hard work. He wasn't used to trying this hard but not that it was a bad thing. It kept him motivated and busy. Always doing something. The one downside had been his social life. Ian had barely managed to squeeze in meal times let alone anytime to unwind besides sleeping a solid nine hours. To say he was due for a night out was an understatement. Ever since he had received Evanna's confirmation he had gotten on making reservations to the Moonshadows, a restaurant/bar on the beach front, that he had wanted to go ever since he had been in Briarwood. He'd told Evanna when to meet him and now he waited. Ian didn't know her well enough to assume she would like the place or even the company so he only hoped that she would. He reminded himself to toast to a night for trying things for as things were going these were all new.
