Mythal and her spirit of wisdom
a little drabble for my ocs mydhan and aru, from the evanuris au that's been rattling around in my brain. this is mainly for you @exalted-dawn-drabbles - consider this my unofficial contribution to dadwc <3
prompt: i want to be more than this devil inside me
Aru is waiting for him when he comes back, of course. Wings fall away and smoking cuts transform into bleeding wounds as he lands, and his knees buckle shamefully. He's able to catch himself in time, though, stand straight as they come to the entrance of the cave.
"Are you alright?" they ask softly.
Mydhan nods, shrugs. "Scratches."
The evanuris gathering around a campfire. It's an older picture, their character designs not quite finished, but I still kinda like it.
From left to right: Elgar'nan, Mythal with Wisdom, Falon'Din, Andruil, Sylaise, June
your oc as a forgotten god
if your oc was a forgotten god, which sacrificial offering would awaken them?
(quiz)
a jawbone kissed with honey
"i left it on your altar, still warm. the sweetness dripped down my wrist. i wanted you to bite first." your return is quiet. sticky. slow. they called you back with something soft—too soft. a gesture of tenderness wrapped in rot. you were once a god of hunger and memory, and they remembered both. the jawbone came from a creature they could not name. the honey? from their own mouth. you taste the devotion laced in decay, and you do not forgive. you never asked to be loved like this.

a knife used too often
"i sharpened it every night. not because you asked, but because i couldn’t stop." some gods are worshipped with hymns. you were worshipped with wounds. they offered and offered until the blade dulled with memory. the metal still sings, though - not with music, but with history. your return is sharp. familiar. brutal. you were never cruel. just necessary.
