You said you disagree with Steve being INFJ. I'm curious on your take on Steve, and why you disagree. *chinhands*
To clarify, most fanon interpretations of Steve Rogers make him absolutely INFJ. He’s the most INFJ motherfucker since Anakin Skywalker. In fact, when I write him as anything other than INFJ, I usually get a lot of hate for it because that’s how deeply Feelsey fanon has made him.
Which is fine. I lovelovelove widely accepted INFJ Steve Rogers because that makes him a deeper character with different (sometimes deeper and more complex) motivations for doing what he does and thinking what he thinks.
But canon MCU Steve Rogers is a textbook INTJ, because we always see him in these situations with externalized Good vs Evil plots. His persona is a superhero. It does not behoove him from a characterization perspective where there is a clear goal in mind to heft on the Feelz, because he only exists inside these plots where there is a clear goal in mind. They’re comic book movies. They’re not that deep. We’re the ones who analyze them to pieces and make them deep (and go us for that).
From portrait of an iNTJ:
They are the supreme strategists - always scanning available ideas and concepts and weighing them against their current strategy, to plan for every conceivable contingency.
INTJs are ambitious, self-confident, deliberate, long-range thinkers.
The INTJ’s interest in dealing with the world is to make decisions, express judgments, and put everything that they encounter into an understandable and rational system.
In the absence of properly developing their communication abilities, they may become abrupt and short with people, and isolationists.
INTJs have a tremendous amount of ability to accomplish great things. They have insight into the Big Picture, and are driven to synthesize their concepts into solid plans of action. Their reasoning skills gives them the means to accomplish that.
In other words, Steve Rogers in canon only exists to fulfill the above function: strategist, protagonist, fighter, hero. Without a plot, he isn’t real.
But fanpeople, bless us, we put this angry hardass INTJ, so beautifully portrayed by Chris “My Emotions Are Bubbling I Cry Quick” Evans (ENFJ maybe?) in situations where he has to have the Feelz. Because he’s falling in love. And protecting/taking care of Bucky. Or being protected by/taken care of by Bucky (or Tony or Peggy et al).
We see him as an INFJ because we see his potential outside of his oversimplified, externalized plots. We see the person he can become when he can take the time out of his allotted two hours of each film and pine for Bucky/Tony/Peggy, mourn and grieve, silently suffer, all the things Steve Rogers does in nearly every fic.
I’m not making any commentary on INTJs or INFJs as people, but, as a character study, the MBTI paradigm becomes (somehow) more reductive than it is toward people. Ergo, Steve Rogers is an INTJ in canon but we explore him as an INFJ in fanon, and both I think are totally valid interpretations of his character.
1) "But you didn't shoot the deputy. :D" 2) (fast forward eight or nine years) "I guess I did shoot the deputy."
That line alone made it worth suffering through 11 seasons. :D Dean is such a cheesy ham it’s so cute how he’s always so proud of himself when he makes a joke but always so sad when no one laughs. :(

Ok I can do this *grits teeth*
I think I’m a good writer (I actually backspaced this three times deliberating between the word “good” and “decent”)
@habitatfordeanwinchester told me I was charming :D:D:D
@celestialdisturbances told me I was perceptive :D:D:D
I had to ask for another and she said, “You are remarkably intelligent”
My teeth are so big and unwieldy that I can make this noise like a deflating balloon for like several minutes at a time and everyone thinks it’s annoying but I think it’s cool
