Right. So I understand this, but am I wrong in thinking this is hinting quite strongly towards the whole homosexuality-hate thing?
I try not to read that kind of thing into this sort of thing. Like, the Oatmeal has a lot of insightful things to say but he also makes a shitton of poop and gore jokes, and tends towards the crude in general, so I’m not going to extrapolate too much beyond what is explicitly stated. This is insightful, anyway, and makes a lot of sense. When I learn that something is directly counter to my worldview, I actually do sit with it and let it percolate and then research. I’ve pretty much always done this with anyone but my mother. I’d rather be correct than right, if that makes any sense. I want to understand how the world works, i don’t want to force my understanding on the world.
It explains why people hold so tightly to things in the face of all rational evidence to the contrary.
