at work they're showing us how to use AI tools like Copilot to help in our day to day tasks.
I have many reasons why I will not use those tools, going from lack of accuracy, lack of ethics, and a higher waste of energy.
But my main reason is this:
I will do things the hard way. I will learn how to do things the hard way.
Because AI is a subscription. And when the world is dependant on AI, they will raise the price of that subscription.
And when the company I work for decides that paying for AI is too expensive for their bottom line, they will remove it.
But I will still know how to work.
what do you mean voice over file scripts for video games are very often kept in an excel format at later stages. you keep it in the very convenient program that lets you write and format and order everything exactly how you want instead of some fuckass program that makes it harder to find what you want? what the hell

Couldn't figure out why my fingernails stopped breaking and then remembered I spent a few weeks oiling my cuticles with jojoba and like I know that stuff works but god damn it really works.
Anyway cheap watercolor water brush filled with jojoba oil from trader Joe's, brushed on nails when I think of it. My last mani lasted 3 frickin weeks.
This is as long as I want my nails to be and they were breaking off so much before.
i hate when gluten free flours are shelved with wheat flour. i get nervous when i have to walk down a baking aisle. we need to start mandatory training about cross contamination for everyone who has any part in the food supply chain. frankly i think we should be treating gluten that could become airborne as a biohazard when it's in a shared space (such as a grocery store).
i think gluten-containing flours should be quarantined from the rest of the store and in extremely sealed packages instead of barely sealed paper and i'm not kidding.
As someone who's worked in a grocery store, i genuinely don't think grocery stores are in any way safe if you have celiacs. Those bags are not even a little bit airtight. Just picking one up is enough to release a little puff of wheat flour into the air, and during stocking it fills the whole aisle with a haze of flour. I used to wear a mask just because it was hard to breathe.
can flour manufacturers PLEASE use packaging that is not that. oh my god

last night someone left the door open and none of us could figure out who did it. not a huge deal but it’s important to keep the animals in, if they were to get out of their room into the main space. since we all swore we shut it behind us we decided to look back at the motion sensor game cam to see if it bounced open or something so we could fix it so it wouldn’t do that.
i was like “it had to have somehow bounced open. it’s not like anyone out here would be breaking in.”
my friend joked, “there were a few deer in the pasture last night that looked shifty.”
Well you’re never gonna fucking believe this.
I even thought to myself “maybe it was me?” because of my ADHD. but shutting doors and gates is one of my ONLY reliable habits because i’ve been on farms my whole life.
I’m never second-guessing myself again after this, frankly. from now on when I misplace my keys I’m gonna be like, well maybe they were taken by a wild animal.
We had something like this... I kept finding cat turds in the bathroom with two pieces of toilet paper on top of them and assumed someone else did not want to look at them and put toilet paper on top of them instead of picking them up.
Finally one day I got fed up and asked my husband if he'd done it and he said, "I thought you did it!" And then we asked every person in the house and apparently for more than a year we had all been vaguely annoyed at each other for leaving the cat turds and covering them rather than picking them up.
And I said, well that only leaves the cat... And my husband went into the bathroom and brought out the bottom roll of toilet paper from the toilet paper stacker, which was covered with claw marks.
She had gotten the idea that poop happened in the vicinity of the toilet and that toilet paper was involved but "cover the poop" is a deep instinct.
Not deep enough to get her to use the litterbox literally 3 feet away but there you go.
