I know this isn't my usual content, but it's important.

Ezra is a wonderful person, and they have the amazing opportunity to have gender affirming top surgery next month. While they are thrilled, that's a pretty short time to raise the rest of the money not covered by insurance and to make up for being out of work after surgery.

I'm asking that, at the very least, you share this in order to help Ezra have their surgery. If you can donate, that would be amazing, but even just sharing will hopefully spread it far enough for Ezra to get all the funds they need. And anything extra they get, or anything leftover, will go to other gender affirming fundraisers, prioritizing BIPOC.

I never thought I’d have to make a post like this, but unexpected things happen. I’m just glad the limit on my care credit card is decent enough to have taken care of this.

My cat, Zoey, ended up at the emergency vet last Wednesday, after an acute idiopathic vestibular event, where she lost her appetite, and balance. I had set up a vet appointment for the next day for a checkup and rabies shot when Dem and I noticed she wasn’t acting like herself, and only barely ate the wet food I put in front of her. Later that night when I was getting ready for bed, her head and eyes were shaking and she could barely walk, so I rushed her to the vet.

That was a costly bill, because they found a heart murmur as well. So x-rays, bloodwork, an echocardiogram, they all added up very quickly. The good news is, she doesn’t have heart disease like they thought. They think she might have had a small stroke that day.

She’s much better now, eating on her own and walking normally again. I’m just looking for a little bit of help to clear my card back down in case something else comes up. Like, another stroke or something. I’ll be rescheduling her regular checkup next week and I’ll be bringing in the vets notes for them to look over as they check on her. I can afford all of their normal vet visits and stuff, but this was just so unexpected and honestly terrifying.
