Zeba looked around the clinic, her clinic. A few weeks of hard work and the place was finally in working order. Sighing contentedly, she glanced outside and wondered what everyone else was up to. She'd spent most of the past few days holed up in the shed-turned-clinic trying to finish sorting through all the supplies she and Chase had unloaded. It'd been late by the time she'd forced herself to return to the house to scrounge up some food and get some sleep, and she hadn't seen much of anyone.
Pushing herself up onto her feet, she wandered outside, being sure to latch the door behind her. She gave the little goat a pat on the head and made her way down the steep wooden stairs to the beach, where she slipped her shoes off.
It must have rained recently -- the sand was wet and cold beneath her feet. She walked out to the edge of the water; just far enough that the tide washed over the tops of her feet. She heard footsteps behind her, but didn't turn to see who it was, trusting they'd make their presence known.
