Ajax’s look when they’re talking to Rondael and jokingly ask him why he should care, and Rondael responds by saying they shouldn’t
Because they know they shouldn’t
They know that they shouldn’t care and they know that they shouldn’t get attached, but they do
And even if Rondael’s response was light hearted, it still reminded them they they have failed time and time again at the only rule they’ve ever set for themself
Something about how Ajax’s voice shifts as soon as the tornado begins
How it gets slightly higher as their statements start to make less and less sense
How the only thing that they say while in the tornado without their voice being higher pitched is “I can’t think”
How as soon as rondael begins to question it, their voice returns to the higher pitch as they tell him that their okay and normal and that it’s just a tornado
How hostile their tone was when Robdael started making fun of the tornado
And how their voice only returns to normal once their inside the shelter
